Deep Tissue Massage Therapy

Description of therapy: What is it?

A deep tissue massage is a therapeutic technique using slow, deep strokes and firm pressure to release chronic muscle tension and "adhesions" painful tissue that restrict movement and blood flow.

Description of therapy: How does it work?

It targets deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue

Description of therapy: What are the benefits?

Chronic muscle pain and stiffness

Sports injuries and muscle strains

Conditions like sciatica and fibromyalgia

Adhesions that restrict circulation and cause inflammation

Improving blood flow, reducing inflammation, and promoting natural healing

Restoring range of motion and flexibility

Description of therapy: What should the client expect?

A deep tissue massage targets chronic muscle pain, tension, and injuries by using slow, firm pressure with fingers, thumbs, forearms, or elbows to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia. You can expect the therapist to first warm up your muscles, then apply focused, deep strokes, and friction to break up tight knots (adhesions) and scar tissue, which can feel intense but should not be painful. The goal is to increase blood flow, reduce inflammation, realign tissues, improve mobility, and alleviate pain, though some soreness afterwards is possible.

Any limitations, restrictions, or conditions for participation?
